Using shrine-like boxes with their religious overtones, enables Jennie to play out three dimensional stories, often from the female perspective. A line of poetry or a piece of text can suggest a narrative. Drawing on historical references, figurative art and sacred imagery, she examines the pressures and anxieties of our secular society, the frailty of our bodies and our curious fascination with death, desire, love and loss, the morbid and the macabre - hopefully with some humour and always a little theatricality.
